Deforestation, climate change and destructive mining practices threaten rainforests and water sources all around the world today. Liberian land has continuously been exploited for it’s gold, diamonds and rubber leaving in it’s wake contaminated water supplies and acres of burned forest. Bonokollie Foundation with support from our donors, has an opportunity to make a real difference for the Liberian People.

Our mission is to support and sustainably develop our ancestral land, Bonokollie Town, and neighboring villages in Liberia, Africa. We will provide clean water, self-sufficient farming, medicine and care for the village. We will build shelters, schools and roads, provide jobs for the Liberian people, and preserve the land for future generations.

Over 60,000 acres of land has been in the Bonokollie family for generations, but currently lacks the critical resources needed to truly support the community and protect the natural environment from illegal mining, poachers and deforestation.

Plan of Action

Our top priority for the use of our funding will be to build wells and provide water filtration systems to our land in Liberia and the surrounding regions, as this is the areas most urgent need. All the developments that we are striving for, are wholly in the interest of meeting the needs of the Liberian people and providing a safe and healthy place for the flourishment of the community. Liberia is a beautiful country rich in life, land and resources that have been for too long exploited in the benefit of foreign powers. We hope that our efforts will contribute to a brighter future not just for our land but for all of Africa. We will establish a forest preserve on the land to do our part in protecting one of the most biodiverse rainforest left on this Earth. Any mineral recourses gained from the land will be collected in the most environmentally conscious way possible and used to further the development of the land. Once we establish clean water and self sustainable farming, we will work to build schools, bring medicine, and help the community with the recourses they need to create jobs, continue their traditions and create products for art and trade. Bonokollie Foundation will bridge a connection between the cultures of our tribal roots and shine a light on the needs of our people and their potential.

We wish to share the fruits of our love and dedication with our generous patrons and supporters. With a donation you will receive photos of the beautiful forest, landscapes and people of Bonokollie Town and regular updates on our developments. In addition to our much needed support from donors, our foundation in Chicago, Illinois will be hosting charity events to raise funds, bring awareness to our vision and bridge connections between communities. Our events will vary depending on location, many will consist of art shows, performances and music. If you have specific knowledge to help our project, whether that is in environmental management, business, sustainable architecture, or a field that you believe can help our projects success please reach out.
